Friday, June 11, 12:15-1:00, Commissioners Courtroom, Courthouse-on-the-Square The Sutton-Taylor Feud: The Deadliest Blood Feud in Texas by Chuck Parsons Parsons is a noted author of several books and is editor of the Wild West History Association Saddlebag. Friday, July 16, 12:15-1:00, Commissioners Courtroom, Courthouse-on-the-Square Modernist Movement at TWU 1920s - 1970s. Jo Williams, nationally-known Denton watercolorist, will present a program based on research done for the VAST show she curated earlier this year at the Center for the Visual Arts, "Pioneers in Modernism." Her show-and-tell lecture will explore the extraordinary women artists of TWU from 1920s - 1970s. Friday, August 13, Commissioners Courtroom, Courthouse-on-the-Square Happy Birthday, BSA by Jim Morriss Join us for a celebration honoring the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America in Denton County. Friday, September 17, 12:15-1:00, Commissioners Courtroom, Courthouse-on-the-Square The First Pipe Organ in the City of Denton by Bob Estes Mr. Estes is a retired administrator, Denton Public Schools, and a faculty member of the University of North Texas Education Department.  He is a prolific collector of organs of all types. Friday, September 24, 6:00-10:00 pm.  Museum and Courthouse Lawn, Courthouse-on-the-Square 9th Annual Fiesta-on-the-Square Visit the exhibit in the museum, Historic Hispanic Families of Denton County, and view the art exhibit by the Visual Arts Society of Texas.  Enjoy the entertainment on the Courthouse lawn including ballet folklórico groups, mariachis, a Latin jazz ensemble and more.  A celebration in cooperation with the Courthouse-on-the-Square Museum, Denton LULAC Council #4366, the Denton Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, DATCU and other community organizations and businesses.  This program is in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Friday, Oct. 15, 12:15-1:00, Commissioners Courtroom, Courthouse-on-the-Square Seeking Emily Fowler -A Tour of the Denton Public Library Special Collections: A Case Study on Finding Emily Fowler Using the Library Resources by Kathy Strauss. Ms. Strauss is Genealogist & Special Collections Sr. Librarian, Denton Public Library. Friday, Nov. 12, 12:15-1:00, Commissioners Courtroom, Courthouse-on-the-Square Jim and Jackie Kimberling, American Brilliant Cut Glass Jim and Jackie Kimberling are members of the Lone Start Chapter of the American Brilliant Cut Glass Association. They gave a lecture on the Care and Uses of Brilliant Cut Glass at the ACGA meeting in April 2009. Friday, Dec. 17, 12:15-1:00, Commissioners Courtroom, Courthouse-on-the-Square 9th Annual Sing-A-Long:  Make a Joyful Noise, song leaders Bing Burton, Leslie Willingham and David Mollen. Traditional and historical carols will be sung with accompaniment on guitar, hammered dulcimer and violin.
